How We Vet Providers

The exact process behind every listing on Altamonte.biz.

Step 1 — Source

We identify candidates from public license rosters, state regulatory boards (FL DBPR for contractors, The Florida Bar for attorneys, NPI for medical practitioners), Better Business Bureau records, and direct professional referrals. We do not republish data from Google Maps, Yelp, or other third-party platforms.

Step 2 — Verify license & status

For any service category that requires a state license, we confirm the license number is active with the issuing authority and that the license holder is the same legal entity operating the business. License numbers (where applicable) appear on the listing.

Step 3 — Verify business presence

We load the business's own website, confirm the phone number works, confirm the listed address matches what the state and the business publish, and confirm the business actively serves the neighborhood listed. If the business serves the broader Altamonte Springs market but not a specific neighborhood, we don't list it on that neighborhood's page.

Step 4 — Editorial review

Each listing description is written by a human editor. We do not auto-generate descriptions in bulk. If we ever use AI assistance for a draft, an editor rewrites and verifies every claim before publication.

Step 5 — Re-verification

Every listing is re-verified at least annually. The "Last verified" date on each page reflects the most recent re-verification cycle. If a license lapses or the business closes, we remove the listing immediately.

What we don't do

  • Sell organic listing positions. The order of non-sponsored listings is editorial only.
  • Republish scraped third-party reviews or aggregate ratings we didn't compute ourselves.
  • Place sponsored content without a clearly visible Sponsored label.
  • Generate listing pages without real, verified providers behind them.
